This paper introduces MARPOL ANNEX I detainable deficiencies in PSC inspection,cites the common projects leading to the ship detention,and makes recommendations to reduce the ship detention in a similar risk by checking the validity of certificates and documents,strengthening the equipment management and maintenance,and training the crew in a better way.
