城市之困与环境美学——记与美国环境美学家阿诺德·伯林特的一次学术交流

City's Plight and Environment Aesthetics:An Academic Interview with American Environment Esthetician Arnold Berleant

本文是中美两位学者就当前迅速升级的城市化问题展开的一场对话。与全球现代化、市场化同步的全球城市化已经暴露出诸多弊端,如何改善人与自然的关系,消除人与自然的对立,促使"现代城市"这个"工业机器模式"的大怪物向着"生态系统模式城市"转换,让城市这个"人造生态系统"更人性化,也更符合生态观念,已成为当务之急。在城市建设中纳入审美感知、审美体验的维度,以审美改造城市,让城市进入审美流动的、想象的空间,则可能在超越"工业机器模式的城市化"、建设"生态系统城市模式化"的进程中发挥积极作用。但在这一进程中如何避免行政权力与经济利益集团"对审美感知能力的强行征用",则是成败的关键。此外,人类社会的进步是否注定要以抛弃田野,抛弃整个农业文明为代价?人类是否还有其他的选择?两位学者也对此交流了不同的意见。

This is a dialogue on urbanization problems demanding pressing concern currently between two scholars from China and America.There have emerged many disadvantages in global urbanization which keeps pace with global modernization and marketization.Therefore,it is an urgent affair to improve the relationship between human and nature,so as to transform a modern city confined to an industrial machine mode towards the one of a more humanistic and ecologic system mode.Aesthetic experience taken account into the city design will add a certain flavor of imagination and will play a significant role in the evolvement to a city with an advanced,humanistic and ecologic mode.However,it is necessary to avoid cooptation of aesthetic sensibility from political authority and economic groups.In addition,the author asks whether it is the destiny for human to abandon the wild field and the whole agricultural civilization for the sake of social advancement.Do human have another choice？ The two scholars also express their different opinions on these problems.
