The Overview on Research about DaYu since the 20th Century

20世纪以来,大禹传说研究成为学者关注的热点。综合百年来大禹传说的研究成果,有以下几方面特点:其一,早期的争论主要集中在大禹是神话人物还是历史人物方面;其二,包括历史学、神话学、民族学、文化人类学等各个学科的方法都运用到了大禹传说的研究之中;其三,学者们从不同的视角出发得到了不同认识。未来的大禹传说研究亟待于将不同学科的方法兼容并包,将相关的新旧材料全面梳理。

Since the 20h century, the research about DaYu became a hot issue. The results of the research can be classified as follow： Firstly, the early debate mainly concentrated in the question that if Yu was a truly person or a god. Secondly, many methods were applied to the research, including history methods, mythology methods, ethnography and cultural anthropology methods. Thirdly, different researchers get different results by different methods. In the future, the research about DaYu needs researchers integrate different methods and list systematically the materials about DaYu.
