As one of the most important Irish poets, W. B. Yeats paid more attention to the national fate of Ireland, But the theme of Ireland in his poetry was ever changing. When he was young, he tended to be an extreme nationalist and imported many traditional Irish myths and folk stories in his poetry to design the blue print of his dream Ireland; while he grew more mature and influenced by the turbulent political situation, he began to carefully self-examine Irish history and reality in his mid and late period of creation. And we could achieve a conclusion that while his attitude to Ireland reflected in his poetry changed from parochialism to maturity, Yeats took roots in the Irish culture and abandoned context of parochial nationalism, which made his literary creation one part of the world literature.
