兵团是中国共产党应对国际地缘政治斗争不断变化的长远战略需要、总揽全国整体发展和中华民族伟大复兴全局需要、全面总结边疆社会历史发展规律战略决策的产物。六十年的屯垦戍边,兵团以其独特的组织形式,在履行屯垦戍边使命的过程中,较好地发挥了"三大作用",成为国家治理新疆不可替代的重要战略堡垒,起到了其他任何组织都无法替代的作用。

The production and construction corps is the result of the CPC to meet the strategic needs of the ever-changing geopolitical struggle, assume overall responsibility of the whole country＇s development and the rejuvination of the Chinese nation, and summerize the law of the frontier＇s social and his- torical development. During the sixty years＇ practice, the production and construction corps, with its distinctive organization patern, has played ＂the Three Important Roles＂ fairly well in the process of carrying out the mission of guarding the frontier and opening up frontier areas. It has played a role any oth- er organization cannot assume in administering Xinjiang.
