插图词目的选择随意性强。要充分发挥词典插图的作用,就应该使插图的配置有据可依。词典学界还没有人就词典插图的需求进行调查。我们以英语和非英语专业的大学生为对象进行了调查研究,以便为英语学习词典的插图配置寻找依据。

The use of pictorial illustrations in dictionaries is largely arbitrary.To use them to advantage,the use of illustrations should have its grounds.No investigation into the needs for pictorial illustrations has been carried out,so we have conducted a survey among college English and non-English majors so as to offer some guidance for the employment of pictorial illustrations.
