摘要
本文以英语词汇学习理论为基础,通过问卷和访谈的形式,对贵州少数民族地区的3所职业技术学院482名苗族学生的英语词汇学习情况进行了调查。结果显示,在问卷中所有策略中,社会策略是使用频率最高的策略,而认知策略是使用频率最低的策略;男女学生在英语词汇学习策略的使用上无明显差异;同时苗族学生也有与苗族语言和文化紧密相关的一些策略。文章最后对词汇教学提出了一些建议。
Based on Schmitt's(1997) classification of vocabulary learning strategies,the author develops a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview to conduct the study,which include 5 vocabulary learning strategies.Four hundred and eight-two Miao students from 3 vocational colleges participated in the study in Guizhou Province.The findings revealed that 1) social strategies are the most commonly used strategies and cognitive strategies are the least commonly used one;2) there are a few differences of strategies used between the females and the males;and 3) they do have their own specific strategies in English vocabulary learning because they take Miao as the first language(L1).
