Metaphorical way of compounding words has received great attention for its vividness,descriptiveness and shortness.Meaning of metaphorical words is not simply the equivalence of the combination of the two components;besides a new meaning may be born,which has brought a difficulty in translation work.In getting the meaning of the word we have to focus on not only its structure but its semantic relationship.Therefore,the author of the paper will start from the analysis of the motivations of metaphorical compound words,which aims at acquiring the meaning and exploring the methods in translation.
