The KMT leadership's understanding and responses to international situation before the Pacific war outbreak(1939-1941)

太平洋战争爆发前,中国在远东独力抗击日本。中国国力贫弱,显然无法独力在短期内打败日本。作为执政党的国民党急切盼望国际力量加入,合力抗击日本。因此,在坚持抗日的同时,积极关注国际局势的发展变化,并及时提出因应之策。由于国民党高层所做的种种努力,使得中国在太平洋战争爆发后迅速融入到国际反法西斯阵线之中,对中国抗日战争的最终胜利发挥了重要作用。

The Chinese are fighting the Japanese in the Far East on their own before the Pacific war outbreak. Due to national poverty, China cannot defeat Japan in a short time, so the KMT leadership is eagerly looking forward to international communities to fight against Japan. Meanwhile, KMT concerns about any change of the international situation. Efforts made by KMT enable China to be in the international anti-fascist front soon after the outbreak of the Pacific war, which lays a solid foundation for the final victory of the Chinese anti-Japanese war.
