The Russian scholar Mikhail Bakhtin had a broad field of scholarly research,which had positive influence on the development of the humanities. He also had a considerable degree of understanding Chinese culture and literature,which is embodied his outline named Characteristics and History of Chinese Literature. Bakhtin noticed the important position of Chinese culture in the world culture,and believed that to explore general human culture and literature and the law of development of human culture and literature cannot ignore the consideration of Chinese culture and literature,which is the inevitable conclusion of him in the process of thinking about the relations between eastern and western culture and the development of world culture.
