Thoughts of Chinese Contemporary Moral Life

中国人自古以来就很重视道德生活,可是,中国人的当代道德生活出现缺失现象,有些人缺少德性,行为失范。中国人需要重构当代道德生活,构建公民道德,形成以个人品质和家庭美德为核心的私德,以职业道德和社会道德为核心的公德。中国公民道德建设,必须以经济建设为基础,以官德建设为先导,以道德教育和个人修养为关键,当代中国人才能过上美好的道德生活。

Since the ancient times, Chinese have attached great importance to the moral life but there is a defaulting phenomenon in the Chinese contemporary moral life, i.e. the lack of morality and the behavior misconducts. Therefore, it is crucial for Chinese people to reconstruct the contemporary moral life and civic virtues by means of developing personal quality and family virtues individually and encouraging professional ethics and social morality publically. The paper reaches the conclution that Chinese civic morality would be strengthened with the economic construction as the basis, the construction of official virtue as the lead and the moral education and personal accomplishment as the priority so that the contemporary Chinese may live a decent life.
