China and ASEAN Free Trade Area and the New Economic Development of Guangdong Province

This paper expounds the formation of the ACFTA, its development trend and its role in promoting the Guangdong's economic development from the following aspects. First, the paper defines the concept and significance of ACFTA based on a detailed analysis of the 10 ASEAN nations. Secondly, it dissertates upon the establishment process of ACFTA and open-market schedule for both parties. Thirdly, it discusses various achievements of ACFTA in different stages and periods, and then envisions the development perspective of mutual trade and economic cooperation. The paper finally proposes a strategic solution for Guangdong to take the opportunity to enhance development in the mutual open markets.
