Urban corridor,as a framework of urban spatial structure,which has existed since ancient times,plays a vital role in the evolution and development of urban spatial structure.From the integral and systematic viewpoint of traditional Chinese medicine and by thinking over the concept of urban corridor,the article explores urban corridor’s p o t e n t i a l a n d o p p o r t u n i t y f o r u r b a n development by analysis of the dominant and recessive effect on the evolution of urban function and structure.
