摘要
本文从方法论的角度,探讨西方符号学理论在中国的接受并揭示其发展的三个阶段:第一阶段是语言学阶段,中国学界对西方符号学理论的介绍和研究首先始于语言学界,以索绪尔的二分法的语言符号学理论为依据,努力从语言学的体系化方法去揭示各种西方符号学理论的特征。第二个阶段(20世纪90年代)是超语言学阶段,以皮尔士的三分法符号学研究方法和巴赫金的对话思想为指导,探讨符号的多义、符号的非体系性和未完成性。第三个阶段(21世纪)是中国学术界对西方符号学理论的中国化时期,即"化西"的时期。由于中国独特的传统文化语境,中国学者们对形形色色的西方符号学理论采取了"和而不同"的兼收并蓄的态度,注重研究各种理论的相通之处,竭力运用符号学解读的多元化方法,探索多元融合的研究途径,同时也在认真研讨符号的实际应用,走出一条自己的理论和实践之路。
This article proceeds from the methodological perspective to analyze the reception of western semiotic theories in China in three stages.The first stage was the linguistic stage when the Chinese scholars from the linguistic community led the initiative of introducing and studying western semiotic theories based on the Saussurean dichotomy-oriented linguistic semiotics.These scholars resorted to the systematic methods in linguistics to decipher the characteristics of different schools of western semiotics.The second stage(the 1990s) is referred to as the supra-linguistic stage when the Piercean trichotomy-oriented semiotics and Bakhtin's dialogue principle served as the guideline for the exploration of the polysemous,non-systematic,and unfinished attributes of signs.The third stage(since the beginning of the 21st century) has been witnessing the adaptation of western semiotic theories by Chinese scholars,namely the stage of"Chinese transformation".With the unique traditional cultural context in China,the Chinese scholars are able to adopt an inclusive attitude featuring"harmony but not sameness"when approaching the multitude of ideas in western semiotics.They focus on the interrelation between different theories,and try to conduct researches that integrate various aspects of semiotics by using pluralism-based methods in semiotic interpretation.Meanwhile,they also make conscientious studies on the practical application of semiotics to blaze a new path that combines theory and practice.
