明代神魔小说中存在着历史时间与神话时间并存的二元时间形态以及天上、人间与地下相通的三维空间形式,这种时空设置方式能在一定程度上为小说带来空灵与流动之美;而小说故事情节的类型化与人物角色的功能化特征,又容易给人千篇一律、陈陈相因的印象。

There is a dual existence of both the historical time and the mythological time in the magic novels in Ming and Qing Dynasty as well as a three dimensional form of heaven,earth and the underground world.This pattern can make the novel have a sense of intangibility and fluidity;the typology of the plot and the functional features of characters,on the other hand,give an impression of routine.
