摘要
在传统对等理论框架下,转喻被看作一种偏离性的语言使用,其所得到的有关翻译的认识非常有限,无法反映转喻翻译中体现的人类认知的复杂性和动态性。本文在认知语言学框架下探讨了在翻译过程中以语境为基础并受规约限制的转喻图式的例示,阐释了基于多样性邻接关系的转喻图式-例示级阶与翻译转换、翻译变体的关联,以及它为译者提供的认知创造空间。最后,文章提出了对今后开展转喻与翻译关系研究的建议。
Within the framework of equivalence theory,research on metonymy as a deviant use can lead to rather limited understanding of the complexity and dynamics of human cognition in translation.Under the cognitive linguistic framework,the paper discusses how the context-based and convention-constrained instantiations of metonymic schemas are related to the shifts and variations in translation.It reveals how the metonymic schema-instance hierarchy based on a diversity of contiguous relations within conceptual frameworks provides the translator with a cognitive creative space.The paper also gives some suggestions on how to further explore into the issues related to metonymy in translation.
