Taking the safety protection system of the wind power equipment as a research object,the paper introduced the main functions and characteristics of the wind generator protection from the points of mechanical and electrical,which mainly included mechanical protection,electrical protection,lighting protection and earthing protection.It provided the basic guarantee for the safe and stable operation of wind power units.
