Analytical principle of monoalkyl trimethyl quaternary ammonium salt and dialkyl dimethyl quaternary ammonium salt by gas chromatography is discussed. The relationship between adjusted retention time and the number of carbon atoms in long chain alkyl was establised. Ionization manner in mass spectrum of alkyl quaternary ammonium is explained.
