街巷名称记录了城市的历史,留下了许多历史故事,它是一座城市发展的文脉.本文通过大量的资料收集与调研,总结了绥远城原有的历史街巷名称的变化.从一条小小的街巷名称变迁读取这个城市的历史进程.在街巷文化破坏严重的今天,街巷名称的保护具有现实意义.希望以此引起人们对绥远城街巷文化的保护,重视历史的传承.

Names of streets and alleys furnish a record of a city′s history,telling quite a few stories about the past of the city and giving a clear picture of the urban development context.Through large amount of data collection and research,the change of names of ancient city Suiyuan′s streets and alleys is summed up.It is found that even the change of a small street or alley′s name can tell a big story of the city′s historical process.Thus,the preservation of the old names of streets and alleys is indeed a matter of practical significance.It is hoped that this paper may call proper attention to the protection of Suiyuan City′s street and alley culture,and,further,attention to the carrying on of the historical heritage.
