Objective To explore the central nervous system damage of acute paraquat poisoning by 3.0T MRI-SWI and FAIR Perfusion techniques.Materials and Methods Thirty-six acute paraquat poisoning patients and 36 matched controls were enrolled into the study. After collecting the necessary clinical data, all the subjects performed MRI scans including T1flair,FRFSE-T2WI,ESWAN-SWI and FAIR sequences. The rCBF(relative cerebral blood flow)of difference brain areas between or within groups were compared, and the relationships between the rCBF changes and the blood poison concentration were analysed. Results No hemorrhage was seen on SWI.rCBF was significant decreased at frontal lobe and midbrain. The absolute value of decline had correlation with blood poison concentration.Difference of rCBF was showed between different brain areas within groups, and relatively higher rCBF was found athippocampus.Conclu-sion Acute paraquat poisoning may affect microcirculation of some brain areas, such as midbrain, and thus cause specific damages.
