摘要
电信网正面临互联网业务和其它IP业务爆炸式增长的严峻局面,IP协议最终将成为电信网中压倒一切的主导通信协议.从发展的观点看,将IP直接在光路上传送的光互联网应该是理想的选择.要想有效地支持IP业务,必须了解其业务量特征.目前最流行的三种IP传送技术是IP over ATM,IP over SDH和IP over WDM.光互联网的基本结构特性使之成为未来最理想的传送技术.ITU-T已决定全面开始有关IP标准的研究开发工作,这对于光互联网今后的发展至关重要.与此同时,光互联网在数据网络层与光网络层的适配、物理接口的规范、层间管理功能、网络保护恢复及网络管理方面还有待进一步的发展.
: Telecom networks are facing the challenge of the explosive growth of Internet services and other IP services. The characteristics of IP traffics and the features of three IP transmission technologies, including IP over ATM, IP over SDH and IP over WDM, are introduced in this paper. After that, the introduction centers on IP over Optical that uses IP over WDM transmission technique, covering IP over Optical's basic architectural features, reference model, the problems to be solved and the standardization situation.
