高阳先生以其细腻娴熟的笔法,在胡雪岩系列三部曲中,刻画出了一个胆大心细、仗义疏财、知人善任、长于合作的豪商形象。胡雪岩的成功得益于其内心的思想和智慧,核心是"己欲立而立人,己欲达而达人","己所不欲,勿施于人"等儒家思想;但对儒家思想中"仁义"的过分坚守又是造成胡雪岩后期衰败堕落的重要原因之一。

But Hu Xueyan adhere to Confucian thought ＂virtue ＆ morality＂ too much, which is one of the important reasons for the decline of Hu.
