英语专业基础阶段的文化教学认识

Study on Culture Teaching for English Majors

本文采用实证方法分析了学生对文化现象的掌握的情况:从整体上看,学生的文化能力较差,学生用英语表达目的语文化的能力高于用英语表达母语的能力;单从翻译角度看,学生把英语翻译成汉语的能力高于把汉语翻译成英语的能力。

Culture plays an important role in English study,especially for English majors.This study analyses the level of students’mastery of culture.On the whole,students are not good at this aspect.Meanwhile,they do better in using English to express western culture than using English to express Chinese culture.When it comes to translation,for English majors,English-Chinese translation is easier than Chinese-English translation.The author proposes some suggestions based on the survey.
