委婉语的转喻认知模式研究

Metonymic Modes of Euphemism

在转喻认知理论框架下,从整体和部分之间互相指代和整体中部分代部分两方面来探讨委婉语生成和发展过程中的转喻认知模式,以进一步揭示委婉语的本质。认为转喻是委婉语表达中最基本、最重要的认知模式,通过整体代部分、部分代整体,或相关事物之间互相替代的几种不同转喻模式的运作,从而达到避讳、掩盖、动听的效果。

According to cognitive linguistics,metonymy is one of the most basic and important cognitive modes for human being to understand the world.Within the framework of cognitive metonymy theory,this paper investigates into the metonymic modes in the generating and developing of euphemism based on the two types of metonymy i.e.the whole for the part or the part for the whole.The use of metonymy aims at euphemistic expressions,such as avoiding taboos,covering one＇s true intentions and pleasing others.
