汉英模糊限制语的对比及语用功能探讨

A Contrastive Analysis of Hedges in Chinese and English TV Interviews and Their Pragmatic Functions

分析了汉英电视访谈中模糊限制语的使用情况。通过对比分析,发现两种语料在模糊限制语类型的选择上都最依赖直接缓和型模糊限制语;访谈话语中两种语言的交际双方都倾向使用"我想"、"可能"、"你知道"、"非常"这几类模糊限制语;访谈话语中模糊限制语的使用能够使交际双方在言语交际中的表达更加委婉含蓄、礼貌得体,而且能使交际双方保持良好的社会关系。

Hedges,as a kind of language strategy,is widely used in communication.This paper makes a comparison of hedges in Chinese and English TV interviews and finds that there exist similarities in the using of hedges between the two languages.Those involved in the interviews of both languages tend to use such hedges as ＂I think＂,＂maybe＂,＂you know＂ and ＂much likely＂.In terms of their pragmatic functions,the use of hedges tends to make the communication move on in a polite way so that both parties involved can keep a friendly relationship.
