历史文化名城阆中拥有千年不曾更改的地名,举世罕见,其得名原因众说纷纭。从阆中上古聚居部落民族主体及其使用语言看,"阆中"得名起源于古濮语词汇,发音似汉语"浪",意为"河谷"之地貌。秦收巴地置郡县,经同音通译、同义互代以汉语"阆"为通称。因地形地貌颇显殊异,遂增补汉语"中"以示聚落实体在自然地理环境中的确切方位。

Historical and cultural city Langzhong has this name for more than one thousand years.There are all kinds of reasons.From ancient tribes living here and the language they used,we can find ＂Langzhong＂ originated from anclent ＂PU＂ language and its pronunciation was like ＂Lang＂,meaning valley.When Qin defeated Ba and set counties,chinese ＂Lang＂ was chosen as the synonym.Because of its special landform,chinese ＂Zhong＂ was supplemented in the placename,meaning the exact location in natural geographical environment.
