国外意义协商研究三十年评述

A Review of Negotiation of Meaning in the Past 30 Years Abroad

意义协商是第二语言习得研究的一个重要领域,在国外已经有30年的研究历史。意义协商的研究经历了三个阶段:(1)定性描述阶段(1980-1984年);(2)理论创建阶段(1985-1995年);(3)理论修正阶段(1996年至今)。本文分别对三个阶段的相关研究成果进行了分析和归纳,指出其研究中存在的不足,并在此基础上指出了意义协商研究的未来发展方向。

Negotiation of meaning has been a key research field in second language acquisition for thirty years abroad.Research on negotiation of meaning has gone through three stages： categorization of negotiation of meaning from 1980 to 1984;a tentative theorization of negotiation of meaning from 1985 to 1995;a revised theorization of negotiation of meaning from 1996 to present.The current paper offers a review of the research on negotiation of meaning in terms of its three developmental stages.The paper also provides some suggestions for future research on negotiation of meaning.
