An Analysis of the Reporting Software Industry in China Using Gini Coefficients and Competitive Profile Matrix

摘要 中国的软件企业之间的竞争日益激烈,在这个环境之下企业如果想战胜竞争对手必须对自己的竞争能力有充分的了解。但是目前使用最广泛的两种方法:财务分析和SWOT分析,都不能通过分析行业里每一个企业进而使我们了解整个行业的状态,并做出正确的战略决策。因此,本文结合竞争态势矩阵(Competitive Profile Matrix)和基尼系数分解法(Gini coefficients)对行业分析方法进行了创新,凭借此创新我们对中国的报表软件行业进行了分析,并提出了有效提升竞争力的相关建议。 Competitions in China's software industry are becoming increasingly drastic.Under this tough environment software companies face threats from competitors of various size and power.Therefore,to develop the best strategy,an in-depth understanding of oneself and the market is essential.However the current two most widely used methods for industry analysis:financial and SWOT analysis,are too weak to obtain a full picture of the industry,thus hindering our strategic decision making ability.Using Gini Coefficient and Competitive Profile Matrix,this paper presents a new method of assessing the competitiveness of companies within an industry.We test this new method by conducting an empirical study on the reporting software industry in China and,based on the results of the study,offer various strategic suggestions.
