On Foreign Banking Development in China and Chinese Counterpart Strategy

对入世后外资银行在华发展概况进行了分析,表明外资银行通过在中国境内开设分支机构扩张业务规模的发展模式,并不足以对中资银行构成竞争威胁。研究了改革开放以来外资银行进入我国的主要路径及其演变,指出外资银行对中国银行业的渗透已不仅仅局限于设立分支机构,而是采取了更为多元化的方式,外资银行对我国银行业的"入侵"不容小觑。

The survey of the development of foreign banks in China after China＇s entry into WTO shows that the foreign bank＇s expansion by establishing new branches in China,market will barely exert threat on Chinese banks. Nevertheless, on a basis of the research of the main path of foreign banks to China and its evolution since China＇s reform and opening up to the outside, the paper points out that the influence of foreign banks on the Chinese banking industry is now not restricted in extending branches but in a variety of ways, therefore, such foreign intrusion should not be underestimated.
