The anterior portion of nucleus dorsolateralis thalami is connected with hyperstriatum, neostriatum, eklostriatum, nucleus rotunchis and optic tectum by mutual projection fibers, but there are more connections between its posterior portion and the other thalamic neclei besides those with hyperstriatum, neostriatum, nucleus rotundus and optic tectum.
