A Brief Analysis of Clefts in Both Chinese and English Based on the Differences of the way Between Chinese and Western Thinking

从中西方思维方式的不同来展开讨论英汉两种语言中分裂句在信息内容上先后顺序的不同:汉语分裂句从已知信息到新信息,而英语分裂句是从新信息到已知信息。同时,对语序的不同所引起的句法结构上的差异也进行了研究。

The Western philosophical thoughts tend to separate the subject from the object completely.Centering on the subject,they emphasize the subjective activity and specific analysis,while Chinese philosophical thoughts are inclined to regard the subject and the object as a whole.Based on the differences of the modes of thinking between Chinese and English,the author analyzes the order of information in the cleft sentences in two different languages： Generally speaking,Chinese put the unknown information behind the known in a cleft sentence,while English do the same thing in the reverse way.Additionally,the differences of sentence structure brought out by varied orders are also the searching object of this thesis.
