畜牧兽医专业是襄樊职业技术学院重点特色专业之一,在近60年的办学历程中,积累了丰富的办学经验和职教文化底蕴。特别是2005年以后,畜牧兽医专业教学团队坚持走学院"1233"办学之路,贯彻教育部16号文件精神,大力开展校企合作、工学结合的人才培养模式改革,联手知名企业——襄樊正大有限公司,实施订单培养,共育畜牧兽医高技能人才。畜牧兽医专业在建设中逐步形成了自己的特色,取得丰硕成果,成为湖北省示范建设专业、湖北省教学改革试点专业和湖北省高等职业教育实习基地。
