From the "One City with Double Cores" to "Integration of Urban and Rural Areas": A Path Analysis of Spatial Development in Zhangjiagang City

对张家港撤县建市20多年来的城市空间结构的生成和演变进行初步探讨和厘清,简要勾勒和描绘了张家港市从初始期集中有限资源确立"一城双核",到20世纪90年代中期开始的"一城四片区"的城市发展规划和建设,再到21世纪进一步明确的城乡一体化发展思路的发展路径。

This paper discusses and clarifies the structure and evolution of the generation of urban space in a county to build the city of Zhangjiagang in twenty years. It briefly outlines and describes the city planning and construction of Zhangjiagang from the initial establishing ＂one city with core＂ with the limited resources, to ＂one city with four districts＂ started in mid 90＇s, and to the ＂integration of urban and rural areas＂ in the early 21st century.
