湘南土话蟹摄字语音演变情况很复杂,总体上看一、二等混同的态势非常明显;除佳韵部分字外,湘南土话蟹摄一二等韵合并是主流。其元音演变遵循两条线路:前高化和后高化。

The phonetic change of xie and she rhyme-words of the Southern Hunan dialect is complicated.Generally,the combination between Yi Deng and Er Deng words is extremely clear.Except Ja-rhyme words,the combination of Xie She Yi Deng and Er Deng rhyme has been the main tendency in the Southern Hunan dialect.The Vowel variation falls into two principles fore-over positioning and backover position.
