The deluge and consanguineous marriage are integrated plots in the myths of minorities of the Southern China. The deluge,a way used by the myth-creators to extinguish human beings,is a prerequisite set for consanguineous marriage. The mythic deluge is by no means an evidence of historical flood damage. The mythic consanguineous marriage is not representation of consanguineous marriage, but a manifestation of the subconscious to marry one's brother/sister.The prerequisites of mythic consanguineous marriage suppose that there are only a pair of brother-sister survived and destiny encourages the consanguineous marriage in order to emphasize the universal principle that full brother and sister are forbidden to marry each other.
