Taking Senior C as the main narrator,Coetzee＇s recent novel Dairy of a Bad Year has profoundly exposed the political,economical,and ethic hegemony in the social democratic development of current society.It has also challenged the universally accepted rationality rule and value standard with its insightful description and analysis of the human conflict and perplexities,both physiological and psychological.The paralleling narrative point of views has presented an alternative narrative structure in which a mul-tilevel reading experience is achieved in the process of contrast and complementation.In the examination of the current society,Coetzee has successfully broadened the readers＇ view and mind,evoked people＇s reflections on rational values and realized his criticism on the different latent hegemonies with his acute observation and profound reflections.
