On Zigong′s Position in the Early Founding Period of Confucianism

子贡在早期儒学创立过程中的地位,主要体现在三个方面:一是早期儒学的重要学习者,参与探讨了当时儒学所涉及的一系列重大问题,在一定程度上促进了早期儒学的体系化。二是早期儒学的重要传播者,利用在从政、外交、经商等方面形成的影响力,极大地推进了早期儒学的传播。三是早期儒学的重要维护者,有力地维护了孔子的形象,为早期儒学的发展创造了良好的社会环境。

The position of Zigong in the early founding period of Confucianism manifested itself in three ways： First,as the earliest and the most important Confucian scholar,he participated and discussed a series of important issues concerning Confucianism.In a certain extent he did his contribution to the establishment of Confucian system in the early period.Second,as the earliest disseminator of Confucian idea,he made a good use of his personal influence in the field of politics,diplomacy,trade and business,and greatly promoted the spreading of the early Confucian ideas.Third,as the major advocator of the early Confucianism,he supported and gave a great honor to Confucius and helped to create a favorable social environment for the development of the early Confucianism.
