摘要
Geochemical study shows that the degradation processes of lipid materials like alkanes are distinctive between different biological species.Thus,such processes can be used as molecular markers for identification of paleo-environment and,as a result,raises archaeological concerns.This paper describes some technological principles and methods of detecting normal alkanes,and the latest situation of its application in Chinese and foreign archaeology.
