宠物外科作为以治疗为目的学科,不仅可以缓解和治疗犬、猫临床疾病,解除患病宠物痛苦,同时也有益于人的身心健康。本文总结了宠物外科不仅可以对流浪动物实施绝育手术和对宠物犬进行声带切除术以控制流浪犬猫的大量繁殖、减少噪音污染来维护人类良好的生活环境;同时,以美容为目的宠物外科矫形技术,还可以满足人类心理需求,提高宠物可欣赏性;另外,犬作为实验外科动物模型,对阐明人类疾病的机理、预防及治疗等问题具有重要意义。因此,宠物外科对促进人类健康发挥重要的作用。

Pet surgery plays a crucial role in treatment of clinical diseases for dogs and cats,and contributes to the physical and mental health of pet owners.In this review,the pet surgery is of great importance in the maintenance of good human living environment,such as sterilization to control the population of homeless animals and cordectomy to reduce the noise of dogs.In addition,the pet plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery can meet requirement of appreciation for people.Furthermore,dog as laboratory animal model,is also essential for illustrating the mechanism,prevention and treatment of human diseases.In summary,pet surgery exerts significant effects in contribution to human health.
