The article introduced the evolvement of the concept of sustainability and its meaning as well as the policy framework and market mechanisms for climate change mitigation.Based on that,the article analyzed the issues and opportunities being confronted by local textile producers and gave some practical advices to local manufactures on basic skills that they should manipulate towards low carbon transition,e.g.the carbon footprint measurement and LCA.
