合肥公示语翻译研究

Research on Public Sign Translation in Hefei

通过广泛调查合肥市英语公示语的使用现状,在尽可能多地收集合肥市现行英文公示语的基础上,对公示语的分布、特色、分类进行梳理,对其中的译文错误进行分类;分析汉语公示语英译各种类型错误,揭示造成译文错误的原因。同时尝试性地探讨合肥市汉语公示语英译可以而且应该遵循的翻译标准、译者可以而且应该采用的翻译策略和方法。最后提出解决合肥市英文公示语所存在问题的建议。

Based on the survey and collection of existing English public signs in Hefei,this paper describes the distribution,characteristics and classification of public signs,classifies different types of errors in the translation and reveals the causes of those errors.The paper also intends to explore rules that could be abided by and methods that could be adopted,hoping to make constructive suggestions to solve the existing problem in public sign translation in Hefei.
