摘要
5-羟色胺(5-HT)在维持葡萄糖内环境稳态中起重要作用,研究显示存在于β细胞内的5-HT可以促进胰岛素释放,而广泛存在于细胞膜和神经突触上的5-HT转运体(SERT)蛋白可以重摄取5-HT,通过转运灭活机制调控5-HT行使生理功能。近来研究发现SERT蛋白及其基因多态性与糖尿病的发生、发展存在一定关联性。因此对SERT与糖尿病的研究有助于揭示神经系统与糖代谢的联系,为治疗糖尿病寻找新的靶点。
5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) plays an important role in maintaining the glucose homeostasis. Studies show that intraeellular 5-HT of β-cells can promote insulin releasing,while the 5-HT transporter (SERT)which extensively resides in cell membrane and nerve synapse can reuptake 5-HT by a mechanism of terminating its action to regulate the physiological function of 5-HT. Recent studies suggest a possible relationship between SERT,its gene polymorphism and diabetes mellitus. So the research of SERT and diabetes mellitus can yield novel insights into the connection of nervous system and glycometabolism, and explore new target of diabetic therapy.
