城市交通发展迅速，车辆拥有量急剧上升。交通路口的信号灯对于交通疏导至关重要，视频检测闯红灯并实现拍照处理，有助于减少交通管理成本，提高管理效率。本文根据城市路口的视频特征，提出一个基于颜色特征周期性变化的红灯检测算法。使用本算法，并利用自动背景计算技术，可以自动检测红灯和闯红灯车辆的抓拍。
