Road feature is not just a kind of important basic geographic information,but can serve as the clew and reference system of other surface features extraction.It is a hotspot to research the road feature extraction from images,which has great practical significance.This paper made a comprehensive exposition about relevant knowledge on road feature extraction.First,the basic thought and relevant backguound knowledge of road feature extraction were introduced.Then some comparative mature theories and technologies were showed.Finally,we forecast the development trend of road feature extraction.
