中国学生运用英语听力篇章衔接机制的实证研究 被引量:9

Chinese EFL learners' use of cohesive devices in performing listening comprehension tasks:An empirical study

摘要 本研究主要调查中国学生英语听力篇章衔接机制的运用情况。通过实验发现,显性和隐性衔接机制的运用与英语听力水平之间具有显著相关性,可在一定程度上预测学生的英语听力成绩。在完成听力理解任务时,听力理解能力不同的英语学习者对衔接机制的理解和运用有显著差异:低水平学生较少运用衔接机制,高水平学生能有效利用隐性衔接机制,但显性衔接机制的运用很少。在听力理解中,对学生进行衔接意识的培养,能在一定程度上加强学生对衔接机制的理解和运用,从而有助于提高学生的听力理解水平。 This paper reports on an empirical study investigating Chinese EFL learners' use of cohesive devices in performing listening comprehension tasks.Through experimental surveys,we came up with the following major findings: 1) use of both explicit and implicit cohesive devices correlated significantly with Chinese EFL learners' listening comprehension proficiency and could be used to predict their English achievements in listening reasonably well;2) a significant difference was found in Chinese EFL learners' awareness and use of cohesive devices in performing listening comprehension tasks.Specifically,low level learners seldom use explicit and implicit cohesive devices while high level learners are inclined to employ implicit cohesive devices but use explicit cohesive devices with low frequency;3) in teaching English listening,training of cohesive device strategies was effective in enhancing Chinese EFL learners' awareness and use of such devices to some extent,which in turn helped learners to achieve a better performance in listening comprehension.
