Vascular endothelial growth factor - C ( VEGF formation and highly expressed in a variety of tumor tissue. - C) is the main control factor to promote lymphatic vessel Binding with its receptor - vascular endothelial growth factor - 3 ( VEGFR - 3 ), VEGF - C exclusively stimulates epithelial proliferation, and induces lymphangiogenesis lymphatic vessel expansion, thereby promoting tumor microlymphatic generation. Tumor lymphangiogenesis is a para- mount component for tumor metastasis process. Recent experiments indicated that VEGF - C and VEGFR - 3 secreted by tumor cells were able to activate tumor lymphangiogenesis and increase lymphatic metastasis. These findings will lead lymphangiogenesis and its resistant researches to be a focus in the study of lymphatic metastasis and a possible target of therapy. Lymphangiogenesis can make impact on the tumor metastasis process, and vice versa.
