摘要
尽管本届北京国际音乐节上的三部歌剧与音乐节＂从巴洛克到新当代＂的主题契合得当,没有人预料这几部歌剧配合起来,可以带来多么丰富的效果。音乐和视觉上,周龙的《白蛇传》这部北京国际音乐节与波士顿歌剧院的委约合作的处境,正好在张洹制作的亨德尔《塞魅丽》和叶小纲的《咏·别》之间。
Zhou Long's Madame White Snak was a solid composition among the three operas a the 13th Beijing Music Festival.Director Rober Woodruff staged this ancient Chinese interspecies romance in a contemporary setting.With Lir Daye at the podium leading the China Philharmonic, Zhou Long's music energized the drama that featured star singers Ying Huang,Michae Maniaci,Peter Tantsits and Gong Dongjian.The only weak link musically and dramatically was the chorus:they were helpless in enunciating the English libretto.
