从《白孔雀》看劳伦斯的婚恋伦理观

伴随着男女结合及结合方式而产生的道德观念就是婚恋伦理观,它属于性伦理学中性道德思想意识的范畴,既有个体性差异,又有群体性共识。在《白孔雀》中,劳伦斯以主人公在婚姻上的不同结局否定了资本主义社会传统的、功利色彩浓厚的"门当户对"的婚恋伦理观,也否定了违背情感需求草率行事的婚恋态度,提出了听从源于本能的"血的呼唤",回归自然和生命本体,建立新型的男女两性关系的婚恋伦理思想;其核心是重视人的本能,反对工业文明对人性的压抑和扭曲。劳伦斯的婚恋伦理观至今仍有一定的现实意义。

Concept of marriage belongs to the category of sexual ethics,and it is both individual and communal.Assigning different endings to the major characters in The White Peacock,Lawrence challenges the utilitarian ＂properly matched＂ concept of marriage widely accepted in the capitalist society,criticizes the rash marriage which runs counter to emotional needs,and advocates the marriage based on the instinctual answer to the ＂call of blood＂,where man and woman return to nature and the essence of their lives and are able to establish a new type of sexual relationship.The core of new concept of marriage is the emphasis on man＇s instincts and criticism of the oppression and distortion of humanity by industrialization.Lawrence＇s concept of marriage is still of realistic significance to the present society.
