Sex and Secret History

20世纪80年代中后期,很多作家在其作品中涉及性命题,两性描写在小说叙述中成为对人的精神存在本质进行思考和表达的手段。《白鹿原》中的两性描写在这一时期的创作中具有代表性。《白鹿原》中田小娥形象的跃现,引发了陈忠实对文学创作中性描写的理解和认识:爱尤其是性不应成为创作的禁区,性在文学作品中有其存在的必要性,是人的生理本能和人性的合理性要求;透过田小娥这个视角,陈忠实看到蒙裹在爱和性这个敏感词汇上的封建文化、封建道德,性就成为揭示白鹿原民间"秘史"和支撑这道原和原上人的心理结构的重要构件。因此,在写作《白鹿原》时,陈忠实归纳出"写性三原则":"不回避,撕开写,不作诱饵",明确表达了自己的写作态度。

In late 1980s,sex appeared in works of a lot more writers and description of sex became ways to reflect and express the essence of human spirit in novels,and White Deer Plain is a representative.The pop up of Tian Xiao-e in White Deer Plain led Chen Zhongshi to the understanding and realization of sex description in literature： love,especially sex,should not be a prohibited area,there are necessities of sex in literary works,and sex is the physiological and rational human requirement.Through Tian Xiao-e,Chen Zhongshi saw the feudal culture and moral of love and sex.Thus sex is an important part of exposing the secret history in the folk of White Deer Plain and the supporting of mental structure of the Plain and its people.Therefore,in writing White Deer Plain,Chen Zhongshi summarized his three principles of sex writing： no escape,explicitness,no lure.
