D text making is a very important part in 3D art design.There exist a few software packages used for making 3D text,but these packages are very large,furthermore, the software producers do not provide the algorithms and codes .So they are not convenient in the special cases.How to develop 3D text making software for Windows with OpenGL that is a 3D software developemnt tool is discussed.In our software the features of OpenGL and Windows are utilized effectively,so the performance of this software is very good.
